Karp Associates’ mission on this project was to build a large house for a growing family at a specific price point. Besides the obvious curb appeal of this unique shingle style home, its architecturally interesting exterior and early transitional interior finishes are its hallmarks.
Despite the initial challenges of building on a location with a high water table, the actual construction of this 5 bedroom, 4 full bath, two ½ bath house with a 2-story foyer, complete with foyer panel system was completed on time and budget. The study had glazed wainscoting and the dining room featured a coffered ceiling along with the family room that also had custom built-ins. The formal powder room featured dog bone onyx stone floors and a hand painted vanity. The custom hand-painted kitchen had caesarstone and Calcutta tops, while the separate butler’s pantry had custom painted cabinets and walnut tops. The mudroom received charming barn board siding and a travertine stone floor. Additionally, it featured a spectacular master bath and master bedroom with a walkout deck area overlooking an extensive landscape design.
